BEFORE YOUR FIRST VISIT
Questions about our yoga classes
If you are thinking about beginning yoga, it is natural to have a few questions. Here are some of the things people often want to know before their first class.

Not at all. You do not need to arrive with a particular level of flexibility. Iyengar yoga places great importance on learning the poses carefully and using equipment to help you work at an appropriate level.
Yes, we have classes attended by people with different levels of experience. Please contact Nicky before your first visit so that she can advise on the most suitable class for you.
Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely; leggings, fitness shorts or flexible layers all work well. Classes are practised in bare feet and shoes are not worn in the studio. Mats and yoga props are provided, and there is space to change as well as shower facilities.
We have students from their late teens to their early eighties. Age alone does not determine which class is appropriate, although your general health and mobility may be relevant. Chair yoga is another possibility for those seeking gentler work.
A chair can be used for seated postures and to support some standing work, helping with balance and confidence. If you have difficulty moving or are recovering from illness, please discuss this with Nicky before attending.
Mixed-ability and general classes may be suitable for newer students, while intermediate classes are intended for people with a more established practice. Please contact us first rather than guessing from the name of the class.
Regular 90-minute Iyengar group classes are £13 per session. Chair yoga is £9 for one hour. See the timetable and prices for more information.
New students can try up to three regular 90-minute group classes, paying £13 each time. After that, these regular classes are booked and paid half-termly. Chair yoga is £9 per class.
Yes. One-to-one tuition is available at £50 for a one-hour session or £125 for three one-hour one-to-one sessions. Please contact us to arrange a suitable time.
Woodend House, Shrawley, Worcester, WR6 6TQ, around twenty-five minutes from Worcester city centre.
Please contact us with the access arrangements you require. We can then give you accurate information about the building and discuss whether it meets your needs.
Please mention injuries, recent surgery, long-term conditions or other health concerns before your first class. Nicky can then discuss your situation and whether more specialist advice would be appropriate.
